POSITION SUMMARY:
This position requires a complete understanding of Bike Nation’s business objectives and program. Primarily responsible for promoting and representing Bike Nation at community, professional conferences and related events.
This team member is also responsible for properly soliciting local businesses to join Bike Nation’s loyalty program as TBD upon bike share launch within a community. This position will also interact actively with Community Planning Staff, Street Team Staff and Bike Nation management.
Job duties include, but are not limited to:
- Seeks and identifies community events for which Bike Nation can attend.
- Organizes and maintains Bike Nation’s community event and conference attendee calendar.
- Contributes to and provides promotional strategies used in Bike Nation’s social networking strategy, general media relations and overall marketing strategies.
- Directs the work of contract personnel including working with Bike Nation’s Media Relations contractor, booked photographers, caterers, event staff and other key points of contact. This includes maintaining a sufficient number of individuals within Bike Nation’s special event staff pool.
- Functionally supervises all event support staff including coordinating and organizing special event crews from the Bike Nation Event Staff pool as needed.
- Explains Bike Nation’s bike share program to the general public.
- Resolve, communicate and document any comments, concerns, ideas, problems or complaints received from the public while attending events.
- Prepares checklists of event booking requirements for distribution to proper staff, such as operations and corporate, insuring support materials are maintained and up to date, promotional products are in inventoried and in stock.
- Inputs, retrieves, and updates event setup information and produces event requests and reports through and to management.
- Ensures that setup of chairs, tables, stages, Bike Nation booth or other equipment is in accordance with event requirements and with safety standards and fire and health codes.
- Takes beginning and ending inventory of Bike Nation promotional items, such as programs, records and collects appropriate fees, promotional goods, etc.
- Writes event reports noting attendance, times, and significant opportunities and/or challenges experienced.
- Performs duties associated with final settlement of managed events, such as charges and final invoices.
- Other duties as may be assigned
Compensation will vary depending on experience.
